Participants Guide
Tango Peninsula has a lot of uphills and downhills.
You proceed along the mountain path with glorious view of the Japan Sea.
You may hear the sound of weaving machine and see a lot of the old Japanese culture.
Start to "Shichiryu Toge" mountain path
You start at "Amity Tango" and meet an uphill of Shichiryu-toge.
The 100km race starts at 4:30 in the morning. The uphills makes the heart work harder shortly after wake-up. So we recommend you go up a slope slowly to inspire your body.
When you reach the top of the mountain, you find the rias coastline spreading in the sky becoming bright.
The first half of the course to emotional "Kumihama bay"
There is a tasteful hot spring district called Hamazume at about the 10 km mark. Spectators along the course cheere you. After going through the flat and quiet road, you go up to Shichiryu-toge again, and go to Amino town again. The rolling road covers approx. 8km along the shore.
Have a break at "Asamogawa-gyoko" fishing port in the middle of the course
There is body care service by the professionals of the sponsor, Phiten at the 45km mark. Lactic acid buildups and the mascles become tight and don't work well when you run over the distance of full marathon. You shold emphasis on your muscles care and have a rest effectively. Let's restore the flexibility of the hip and the knees as soon as possible.
Second half highlight: "Ikari Kogen Bokujo" highland farm
Ikari Kogen Bokujo at the 73km mark is the hardest part of the course. You go up and down the hill between the vertical interval of about 400m in the 10km distance. This is when you should be extremely exhausted.
To rocket over Ikari Kogen Bokujo is a bad idea. To put rapid pressure on the tired muscles sets up cramps. It's important to run ploddingly.
Last- Be sated with beautiful Tango
The last 20km is the coast road. There are Tango-Matsushima, Byobuiwa rock , Tateiwa rock, fisherman's town, "Taiza" and Mitsu coast. You enjoy the scenic and history of the old Japan beauty.
If you have peace of mind to enjoy the lovely view, you should be a good ultra-runnner. You are seconds away from finishing.
